If you’re serious about bringing Legal Creatives to your city, we’d love to hear from you. We work closely with every host, so there is a formal application process to start an official chapter in your city.
Please read through the following information to get a better idea of how Legal Creatives operates. If Legal Creatives seems like the right fit for you, fill out the form by clicking the button "APPLY NOW" at the bottom of this page.
Each Legal Creatives chapter is led by one person who serves as the local host. He/she represents his/her city by leading a team and running the local event series every 4 to 6 weeks with the support of the Legal Creatives leading team.
As the primary host, you would be in charge of all the details for your local event such as:
— Hosting an event every 4 to 6 weeks.
— Inviting a speaker for each event that can deliver an innovative talk on a topic that is relevant to your city
— Referring local trainers to offer in-person workshops and online courses on innovative topics. If you have developed a relevant innovative expertise, you can also be a trainer.
— Finding a local partner for the events and trainings to be accredited by the local bar association
— Representing Legal Creatives in your community and leading the Chapter team
— Serving as the main point of contact for the Legal Creatives head team.
You’re free to organize your team as you see fit, but there can be ONE OFFICIAL host only per city.
Yes! ONE legal co-host to support you for all the events of the series and ONE creative co-host that can be different every time to support you with the creative component of the event series.
The legal co-host will support you behind the scenes throughout the year. This way if illness, travel, or any number of life’s surprises prevents you from hosting one of the events, you have a solid back up.
The creative co-host will support you by facilitating the creative problem solving workshop delivered in the second part of each event. Creative co-hosts can be different every time, although a regular co-host is best.
We are making things happen. At Legal Creatives, we believe credibility is acquired through consistency in action. If you are capable of initiating and completing things without supervision, especially when it takes you out of your comfort zone, then it's a good start!
We are challengers of the statu quo and creators. At Legal Creatives, we believe in trying new things, challenging traditions and we’re not afraid to fail. We praise openness to new and innovative ideas, sharing and learning together.
We love working with people for something bigger than "I". At Legal Creatives, we believe trust is built trust by being a good listener and inclusively soliciting input. We take a creator’s approach to any issues that may arise.
And finally, to be an official host, you need to have sparkles in the eyes when it comes to creativity and innovation. Therefore the answer to the secret question in the application form is: Sparkle
Each host signs a license agreement in order to represent the Legal Creatives brand and agrees that all content created as a result of a Legal Creatives event is property of Legal Creatives LLC. The license agreement lasts for 12 months and is renewable. In most cases hosts have the opportunity to renew their agreement each year.
Some chapters may want to establish organizations to keep finances in order or to apply for certain types of funding. However, Legal Creatives does NOT permit chapter hosts to use the “Legal Creatives” trademark as the entity name or confusingly similar names.
Establishing an organization is not required as Legal Creatives chapters are licensed to individuals to act as hosts. As long as local hosts have the right to be self-employed or already own an entity registered in the state in which he/she wants to open a chapter, opening a new entity is not necessary.
